Dean Road // NEWNHAM ON SEVERN // GLOUCESTERSHIRE

I was asked to explore different ideas on how best to extend an 1860's house in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. An existing two bed cottage , the client wished to gain additional space for the family to grow whilst maximising the outstanding views across the River Severn.

A mixture of layouts were considered with the clients preference for a small terrace to take advantage of the fantastic views. To make the new addition blend in with its surroundings, a single storey white rendered extension was agreed. The large area of glazing maintains the proportions to existing windows whilst maximising natural light.
