The project involves the creation of a single storey rear extension as well as internal refurbishment of the existing space. Having lived in the property for a couple of years prior to commissioning David Machell Architecture, the Clients had a strong idea about what was required. The brief involved creating a new open plan kitchen, dining and living space with large windows opening up onto the garden, a downstairs toilet and utility room where also a must. A key requirement of the brief was to maintain a good level of natural light that existed in the original house and this was achieved with the large sliding door facing onto the garden as well as triple skylights in the pitched roof.
David Machell Architecture services for the project included submission of a Householder Planning Application, Building Control Application and liaising with Sefton Council.
