The project is located in Lathom, West Lancashire and is situated within the Green Belt. The existing house is a 1970's property with an extensive south facing garden overlooking neighbouring farmers fields lending the chance for views across local fields and wildlife. The brief involved a new open plan kitchen, dining and living space with full height glazing opening up onto the garden space. The existing property was to also undergo a full renovation with bathroom refurbishments and new ensuites added to bedrooms as well as multiple ancillary spaces such as cloakrooms and guest bedrooms. A new white render external finish was applied to the property to join the old and new spaces.
David Machell Architecture services for the project included submission of a Householder Planning Application, Green Belt Assessment, Building Control Application, liaising with West Lancashire Borough Council and construction site visits.
