The project is located in The Ruff Conservation Area in Hesketh Bank, West Lancashire which meant the highest design standards had to be met. The rear house extension was to be split into a garden sun room and utility/dog grooming area and maximise the views looking onto the garden. Sandstone lintels, window cills and coping stones were all incorporated into the design to match the existing architecture and enhance the Conservation Area. A large roof lantern and bifold doors allow natural light to flood into the space.
David Machell Architecture services for the project included submission of a Householder Planning Application for Conservation Area consent, Building Control Application and liaising with West Lancashire Borough Council.
