The practice was commissioned by first time buyers to design a porch extension that was large enough for pram storage as well as providing additional shelter from the weather. The client was keen for the project to have similar design features to the main cottage such as timber joinery details, a slate roof and rendered exterior - architecture that makes the original cottage so charming.
David Machell Architecture services for the project included submission of a Householder Planning Application, Green Belt Assessment, Building Control Application and liaising with West Lancashire Borough Council.
